Just got a new camcorder (Canon DC100) which uses the small DVDs.
Done a few minutes of recording.
Put the DVD into my PC - it reads it OK but the file created by the Camcorder wont run and my video editing software can't read it.
The DVD has two files on it:-
VR_MANGR.IFO (size 2kb, I presume is some form of admin/control file)
VR_MOVIE (Type of file - VRO File - size 15.4mb which I presume is the movie file)
Do I need different software to play and capture a VRO file, if so how can I get it.
I have three different video editing software packages but none can read/capture this format.
Help!

I have ever had lots of VRO files recorded by my panasonic dvd recorder, i didn't know how to play and edit them, a friend of mine recommended an article to me and i converted them to avi successfully. You can search it and have a look.

I don't know the answer either.
Have you tried opening those VRO files with VLC Media Player?

I'd try Media Player Classic which is part of K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 5.6.1, it's free and there are very very few things it won't play !
They are probably just MPEG2 files created when recording to your DVDRAM.
If they won't play with MPC try a copy to your HDD then renaming them as .mpg or .VOB and see if they playDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
