grrrrrrrrr dealers

Right so I went and saw a car Saturday, 53 plate Mondeo 2.0 Ghia X, really nice, talked to the dealer who reckoned about £700-£800 plus my car would be right, but he was selling it for another dealer who is in Italy so needed to check first

Rings me back later to say other dealer basically does not want my car so would need £1500 to swap!!

Now i really liked the car but not enough to go that high, so do i go back with say £1200 or just move on??

Thanks to MSE I cleared £37k of debt in five years and I was lucky enough to meet Martin to thank him personally.

My car needs a 60k service next so going to ring a main dealer see what the cost is. If its less than £200 no issue if its £600 then different ball game

I think i'd want to know why it belongs to an Italian dealer.....

Could maybe have belonged to an ex pat, maybe? I dunno.....

And if the Italians services cars the same way they build them, id walk a mile.

lol no he is just on Holiday in Italy

I rang them and the issue is they dont want my car because its 2.4 Santa Fe, and with it being petrol reckons to hard to resell.

so no move on £1500 which i think is way to much. I had a part ex from another dealer of £2500 so he is valuing my car at £2000 hence the major gap.

I am. got a main dealer quote on my service, £195 so at an indie more like £140.

Looks like keep my car for a while, maybe get 6 months tax in Feb when its due and look this time next year.

Guess i am just bored and playing to much on autotrader

Yeah, the Italians are crap at building cars, Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Ferrari, Fiat, Lamborghini, Lancia, Maserati, Pagani etc etc should have stuck to building tractors and left the car building to us Brits who know how to do it properly.

It’s no wonder the Italian motor industry is on it’s knees whilst the British one goes from strength to strength

And as for their automotive styling & design houses, words just fail me……..

^^ The Italians just make cars look nice, they don't spend any time on making them reliable.

I've dealt with Italians in the motor components industry and on issues that the Germans would have sorted in 3 days, the Italians take 6 months just to answer an initial email.... THEN they dodge blame worse than even the Japanese (where making a mistake brings shame upon your family).
