Getting products tested by baby magazines

Hi

We distribute baby carriers & would love to get these into the tests run by parenting/baby magazines. Is it just a case of contacting each magazine & offering them a free one to test or is there another way of doing this? Any other bright ideas for promotion?

I've no idea about the baby industry but in another field it was just a case of phone them up and see if they want the product. By the way for low to mid value items don't expect to get the product back.

Twitter - I saw two people I follow arrange a product review between them at 10pm last night (Sunday)!

Don't forget to get bloggers on board as well, some blogs are getting a lot of visitors now and not everyone buys magazines.
