Searching the forum

After searching this forum and then choosing to go back to a page the search keeps repeating. Is there a way to stop this? I have to click the back arrow several times before going back

Hi,

don't think there will be, because, when you go back a page you are in fact going back to the search page, if you want to go back to the page you were on before the search page, you would need to go back two pages.

If you click the back button once, you will inevitably go back to the search request. The easiest way to get around this is to RIGHT click on each of the threads from your search results that you want to explore and select "open in new window" - that way you can open new windows for the results you are interested in. Failing that, you could click on the little black "down" arrow to the right of your "back" button and step back to a state before you did the search....

On the same subject, what do I click after entering the word/s I am searching for and where to search. Seems to be something missing.

There is a button with SEARCH NOW at the bottom of the blue shaded area.....or press RETURN

Speaking of "missing" (I hope this thread is not getting too off subject) but the banners on the right (Martin's Blog & Forum Etiquette etc) are hiding the right hand side of the pages

..sounds like a browser compatability issue. What browser/version are you using ? It's fine in firefox 3.6.8.

well I'm on FF 3.6.8 and I've got the same problem with the 'new look', so I've gone back to 'old look'.

there should be a 'Go' button at right of search box.

In answer to earlier reply - I use both IE and Firefox. Perhaps I'll stick to firefox for this site in future
