Quick update to say thanks for all the prayers & vibes ...... I've heard from my "man" some damage to the house, the car is wrecked by a fallen tree, not likely to be any power for several days ..... but he is safe :D I can breathe again now :T

Thank goodness they are all fine Lady L, you must have been so worried. I know our weather is pretty rubbish in britain, but i am thankful we don't really have to deal with such extremes as other countries do. We get a little hiccup now and then, but nothing horrendous!

    Evening

Happy hols for Serena (and Dustys few days away)

Glad your friend is ok LadyLiberty and hugs for you.

Flying tonight has consisted of spending an hour and a half preparing tea to discover DD and her friend (who is sleeping over tonight) get dropped off with a huge bag of chips each that her mother thoughtfully sent with them as she hadnt given them tea - what did she think I was going to give them then . Poor DH will now be eating leftovers again for a week and I still have so much food in the fridge better start meal planning.

Anyway be the time we had eaten and cleared away the rest of the veg from the garden, loaded the DW and S/S the kitchen I didnt feel like anything else.

Flying again for me this weekend then!

Oh sorry nearly missed it - Happy Birthday Poohbear

and vanilla - happy for DD and hope hubby will be ok

Early night for me now I think

    Night all

Thanks ALLyou lovely people for all the really nice supportive messages. DH apparently had a good night, and seemed quite happy when we saw him today. In town I bumped into one of the other "wives" from the hospital - her DH is going to the same home as mine, and I was able to reassure her that it's a nice place with caring staff. So had a nice soppy hug together in the middle of the pavement - and why not?!

Mumto5 - I wonder if you and I have similar histories? I too am a mum of five, was a midwife, an NCT bfc, and a lactation consultant (IBCLC). So, for all the breastfeeding mothers out there, I could be a bit of back-up help if necessary, only problem being that I'm away from the computer quite a lot these days.

At the end of my HHC last night I'd failed to find the part-made patchwork quilt, but just before I went to bed I thought to look in the cupboard under the stairs - there it was, all nicely zipped up in a plastic storage bag! No time yet to do any sewing though.

When DD3 came today she commented on how clean and tidy my house was - I told her it's all down to Flying!

  • Well, Thursday was a bit of a disaster, only flying I got doen was S&S in bathrooms and kitchen along with a couple of loads in DW and WM. Got back (2.30am) from dinner with girlfriends to find DH had sorted dinner for family and left kitchen in a right mess so DW and wipe surfaces ... shame it woke him up:rotfl:.

As for todays set list I've printed it out sat it on kitchen worktop and done:
    Td x1
    DWx2
    Kitchen worksurface cleaned
batch cooking of lasagnes, 1 for tea 1 for freezer
Gpig cleaned and returned to lovely hay that he nestled down into. Poor gp has a huge growth on side of neck size of a golfball but he carries on squeaking away happily.
    patio swept
    bbq cleaned
    patio table and chairs cleaned
garden storage box emptied, cleaned and then refilled (DH wondered where the box of wine from virgin had disappeared to when he got home .... hmmm)
    Plants repotted
Lots of phonecalls made to try and reduce cost of materials for roof.
Dw emtied and loaded again. S&S in kitchen

I think that'l be all for today. Looks like the weekend jobs will be the THurs and Fri I didn't get done.

    Goodnight, nos da

Vanilla - huge hugs to you xx

LL - top news about your friend

Poohbear, hope you had a good birthday

Winchelsea - well done you on the soppy hug in the High Street and on finding the not-quite-complete quilt for your DH which you can now complete....

Busy day. Went this morning to the University to discuss the proof reading of a thesis. We have agreed terms and scope and I'm looking forward to it. If I do this one right, then I know he WILL recommend me to others..

This afternon I had a community meeting which was ...um... difficult to say the least, but we managed to resolve things in the end.

Has anyone had an update on Piggers and squeak? I hope they're doing OK.

    Hi all

Well plans for me this month have gone haywire already. Study was behind and he decided he couldn't take us on Friday with caravan so staying home until Monday, wish I had known with more notice so kids could have done more of the activities but nevermind.

Still need to pack most stuff as I lost my packing motivation when he decided on Monday. I'm still going to the drag racing on Sunday as I'd booked my ticket, much to his disgust. Stuff it I wanna go!

Got my overdue assignment sent tonight, emptied the DW and refilled it. Done 2 loads of washing but it's chucked it down so they'll end up on airer/in dryer. Other than that house is still hovelesque....nevermind eh!
One day I might be more organised...........
