Slideshow with music software?

I am looking to have some software allowing an automated slideshow with captions and music with it; can anyone suggest one, free preferably.

Wpuld say PowerPoint but that isn't cheap, I believe open office has a presentation thing like powerpoint that should be capable of your needs

If you have Windows XP you can download Photostory from Microsoft for free from https://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx

You need to have a validated copy of Windows to get the download.

Lets you add captions, music etc.

Its not free but Proshow Gold is a fantastic bit of software, I use it all the time to build professional photography slideshows with music. It also allows you to add video files, caption, etc. and its really easy to use.
