as you have said you feel on edge driving it i would get it checked properly ASAP,could be doing it for a number of reasons and is very difficult to diagnose it without looking at the car.

And try running the tyre pressures a little, say 4 or 5 psi, lower and compare. Not recomendend long term or fully loaded but it may pinpoint it as a tyre issue, or not of course ;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Initially this sounds like tram lining, which is where the tyre's follow something on/in the road (usually the white line), feels a bit like something grabbing at your steering wheel and indicates tyre/tracking issues.

If it happens over bumps then it's your (most likely rear) shocks.

To be honest Strider from the OP's description, and the fact that you can't diagnose anything over the net, it could still be any one or a combination of a multitue of things.

This is one of those occaisions when even if it technically doesn't need it, taking it for an MOT test could the cheapest and most reassuring form of diagnostic treatment ;)
