what car...!?

Hello guys. I have about 8,000 which includes part exing my old fiesta for a 'new' car. I'm 22 & fancy something fun!! Iv previously had a ka & a fiesta which were okay. Iv been looking at mini ones & the new fiestas but I can't make my mind up (I'd consider other makes/models too!!) I though I'd decided on the mini until various people gave negative comments, although Iv had positives from current mini drivers too!! Do any of you lovely people have any suggestions of the best super minis!? Thanks. Xx

I too like the mini as they are rear wheel drive, but I feel they are overpriced. They also have some problems with the clutch and dual mass fly wheel, so that is expensive.

Not sure what would be fun for you as more powerful car will cost more on insurance for someone your age. The usual suspects i guess fiesta, yaris, pug 207, civic, mazda 2 etc.

If you want real fun get the 2 seater open top mazda mx5.
  • Something fun?, well that means a proper engine in a small car, and you could do far worse than try a Panda 100hp for a bargain pocket rocket, a Mini with a proper engine will be expensive and expensive to maintain, and most supermini's eg Fiesta are clones of every other supermini on the road.

Altogether much more real fun would be a Mazda MX5 if you fancy a bit of open air cruising whilst having a capable and durable car too, maybe worth leaving buying one of those till the end of the season now when prices should steady a bit.

    Sorry they are FWD.

They do seem expensive but are individual (except for the bargain similar Suzuki Swift) in a sea of boring identicars.

    fancy something fun!

Fun is just a state of mind. Any car can be fun. :)
Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.
  • Iv been looking at mx5's, very nice but unfortunately with being 22 my insurance quotes are 1,000 plus :( Xx

How about a Seat Ibiza FR.....great if you're looking for a small hatchback with a bit more oompf, that's not too harsh insurance wise. In your position, I'd recommend the diesel which is a few insurance groups lower than the petrol. I had one for ~ 5 years, and I wasn't tired of the push-you-back-in-your-seat torque by the time I got rid.

2nd hand 1-series if you want RWD.

Mazda 3, Skoda Fabia are FWD, but might be worth a look too.
