Travel insurance query

Hi,
this is a bit of a daft question but I'm not sure of the answer. My Husband and I have an annual travel policy that i am just about to renew. This coming year we are only planning on visiting Europe, thus I will probably take out a multi-trip Europe policy. However, next year we will be visiting America. I will need to renew the policy next August and will obviously take out a worldwide policy.
However, we will start planning the USA trip this year and will have flights and accommodation booked before the expiry of our Europe policy. Will this policy cover any cancellations for a trip to America? Or shoudl i just buy a worldwide policy this year even though we will only be visiting Europe?
Thanks

I believe you will need the worldwide policy in place to cover the flights and accommodation booked.
However I would suggest calling the travel insurer for a definitive answer.0 -
Not sure what to answer there?
But i'l warn you of one thing for sure,,,, DO NOT what ever you do, touch AXA for your travel insurance for USA. They are nothing but trouble and hastle. Read the forums about them...

If you want cancellation cover for the US holiday then you will need a policy that covers that - a European one will not.0

You need worldwide cover in place at the point of booking.
You could walk out of the travel agents and get run over by a bus.
Ok, it's not likely but something could happen after the booking and you need cover for that trip (worldwide) as soon as you book.
If you can't in practice arrange it before or when you book, then do it as soon as is practical afterwards.0
