Travel Insurance advice for studying in US

My daughter is going to Uni in Miami for one academic year this Aug. She HAS to take up the Uni medical insurance once there which is very comprehensive and expensive! But I'm not sure how to insure her for travel whilst she is there - we are flying out a week early to do some sightseeing before she enrols and then she will be flying home in December and back to Miami again in January finally home May/June 2010 so obviously all this travel needs to be insured but I am also thinking about her belongings - passport/laptop etc. She has got an appt at her bank tomorrow so i thought she could ask then but didn't want them to oversell her and overpriced insurance product so just after some advice off any travellers or insurance specialist as what she needs to ask for or for where I can look on internet. many thanks

Presumably the placement is via the UK uni on one of their swap courses? I would contact the UK Uni for advice as they will have been asked all of this before.
