Can I get a contract phone after DRO?

Hi
My DRO ended in April and I want to start building my credit back up. I have applied for the pre paid credit card and been approved but I also want to get a mobile as my husband and I are seperating and I feel I need one for emergencies such as breaking down in the car, problems with the kids etc...Anyway I am on PAYG but my phone is ancient and keeps breaking and I can't afford to buy a new one outright. Is there anyway I can get a contract one?
Thanks

to be honest you'll probably struggle trying for a "normal" contract...a few of the providers will offer a sim only tarrif see how you manage for a few months then possibly offer an upgrade to a full contract after a while
or three/tmobile have been known to offer contracts to discharged bankrupts BUT they ask for a pretty hefty deposit thats returned after a few monthsWe all die. The goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will0 -

Bought my wife a nice Samsung for £20 on PAYG and it perfect for her, with an o2 simplicity sim I top her up £10 a month and she gets unlimited texts and 100 mins, so better than a lot of contracts too, it won't solve the rebuilding credit but it a good way to get a new reliable phone.

Thanks for the replies. I was going to apply today but I just got copies of my credit reports and two of my creditors are still showing as balance still owing - surely this is wrong? Think I will wait until I can sort this out first and then maybe try for the sim only deal. Thanks again0

My daughter works for one of the mobile phone companies, and she reckons you have no chance at all at the moment of getting a new contract.:pB&SC No. 298
