Direct Debit did go out of the bank today, so I did a 'spot' of food shopping as well........
Topped up on milk - got 2 more of the 50p 1% from Mr M. What we had in might have lasted until Sun/Mon, but next spend day isn't planned until Tues and I suspect the offer ends on Sunday.
Discovered I'd no chips in the freezers and finished off the sweetcorn last night, so replaced both of those
Used the last of my (non home grown) potatoes tonight, and my home grown ones are tiny baby ones so not suitable for some of the meals I have planned (plus DS isn't a fan of them  ) - so picked up a pack of 4 baking potatoes which should see us through to the end of the month
I then went and checked out the Whoopies...... always dangerous, even when I'm trying to be restrained
Picked up :-
pack of 6 strawberry Petit Fil0us (9p)
pack of 10 slices of chicken (9p)
tub of tuna salad (that's lunch for tomorrow sorted for just 19p :T)
block of specialist Lancashire cheese (normally way beyond my budget, but wasn't going to turn down a 462g block for 19p)
french loaf (been wanting to try this for a while, but have never seen it reduced below 49p -- tonight it was 25p)
cross-cut batard (a customer on Tuesday evening - when I did my last Whoopsie hunt - was raving about them, so figured it's worth a try at 19p)
but the best bargain of the day was two trays of cooked Topside of Beef. 79p a tray, and a combined weight of 780g. I've now split this into 8 portions of 90-105g and popped it into the freezer, so that's 8 roast beef dinners for me after DS moves out
Total spend today came to £6.30, with £2.60 of it being spent on Whoopsies with a 'real' vaue of £21.91.
The beef alone came to just £1.58 against an original cost of £11.62 !!!!Cheryl0 -
Just been doing some checking of figures on my budget spreadsheet, and spotted something I had to share.....
Today is day #238 of the year
If I change my NSD counting method back to the start of the year instead of just since 1st July (so that a D/Debit or regular payment is classed as a spend), then I've had 119 NSDs so far in 2010
So I've clocked up exactly half of the year-to-date as NSDs :TCheryl0 -
I've managed 4 in a row which takes my total to 14 so far - only one more to target. Will be a big spendy day tomorrow though, got all the festival supplies to get - eek!
We've got six bands playing in our garden on Saturday night, about 200 people coming, I'm terrified!!Trying to jump back onto the moneysaving wagon .... :cool:0 -
Reporting a fail on this months challenge sorry guys have spend days on friday sunday and tuesday coming up so not enough days left.Barclaycard 3800

It'd certainly be a talking point for your other guests for years to come :rotfl:Cheryl0 -

Thanks for Daisy - however the weather here has been c**P all day and she has refused to go outside unless Jeeves pops round to hold a brolly for her...consequently I came home from work to find a big whoopsie (and not the grocery kind) on my living room floor :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Sunnylooloo wrote: »Morning all
well I hope you might be a bit proud of me, driving in I was thinking... Mmmm i could really do with a "nice" coffee and a cheese and ham crossiant.... and as I got paid yesterday I thought... yeah why not. I was in earlier enough to go to the shop and cofffee bar... but as I got out of the car I thought OMG so you are going to spend nearly £5!!!!!!!
So I just came up to the office and made my own "nice" coffee (in fact it must have been very nice as one of the boys said it looked like the one you get in St*rb&cks) and toast! so NS for me! I have lunch and Mr Looloo is sorting out supper........... so there you go! All good - just shows WILLPOWER!
Hope everyone is ok today!
xx
Well done Sunnylooloo... more willpower than me today!Broken_hearted wrote: »Reporting a fail on this months challenge sorry guys have spend days on friday sunday and tuesday coming up so not enough days left.
Tut tut! You haven't failed, you just haven't quite met the target this month but have given it a good go and will try again next month....;)
Small spendy day (as expected) today.- Mr W - 56p for cotton face pads
- 99p store - £3.97 - carpet cleaner (the cat threw up on the stairs at the weekend and apparently partially digested Whiskas leaves a nasty pink stain on beige carpet ), two tins of 'carribean mackerel' l - didn't get to try the last lot - OH ate it, and some plant feed as a plant OH chose earlier in the summer doesn't seem to be liking this weather
- Mr T - HP sauce - 2 for £3 (I won't even go into how much OH uses but I am not exaggerating when I say he has it on EVERYTHING!)
- Mr M&S - £1.69 on a vegetable bake for lunch...was going to have beans on toast but no bread at work (yeah ok, thats just an excuse, i didn't really fancy it anyway
)
- Mr M (tonight) 3 x 4pts of 1% milk for 50p (stocking up) and based on my savings of normal 4pts, I bought a tub of Chicken & Sweetcorn soup for £1.
Have the day off work tomorrow and do kinda expect a small spend day again (I've really fallen off the NSD wagon this week) but hopefully will fit one or perhaps two in before next Wed.

But I'm paying for it today !!! Didn't hear 7:30am alarm, and eventually woke up around 9am..... just as well I'm not due in work until 1pm
And my legs are really stiff at the moment, so it looks like I'll almost certainly be giving running club a miss tonight (it isn't a route I fancied anyway - it's a straight out and back which I don't see the point in, I'd much rather do a circular as you can't bottle out and turn back early)
Not surprised you're tired today, tbh, Cheryl and think it's wise to miss tonight's run (if you did that), you need to rest when you first start otherwise you can damage your knees and other joints. You're doing really well:Twell done Spoon :T You really are putting me to shame this month
Ahh, thanks, but I'm not counting direct debits, so not a fair comparison really. I think you're doing brilliantly this month - well done:jThe time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
