New Halifax Reward account

I've just opened a Halifax Reward account which I wanted to credit before August so I could get the £5 for July. I paid in £500 at a branch on Friday and another £500 today (Saturday).

As a new account does the £1000 pay-in required to receive the £5 "reward" have to stay in the account for 24 hours?

I didn't think about this until after I went online just after midnight tonight and set up a transfer to move the £1000 elsewhere. In doing so my online access was promptly suspended until Halifax carry out their security checks and contact me - I'm assuming this happened because it's a new account, or because the account has only been in credit for 2 days?.. or both!

Thanks...

Once fully set up, you don't have to leave the £1,000 in for more than it takes to transfer it in and out again. However, I vaguely remember (it's been a while since I opened the ones I've got), that it's best leaving it in overnight on first opening the account.

Thanks... I'm sure I've read that elsewhere on here.

Anyway all that happened was my online access was temporarily suspended and the transfer was cancelled.

If it's a new account (as opposed to a converted account - which I'm more familiar with) you need to leave at least £100 in for 24 hours to activate the account and allow them to issue the Debit Card etc.

And I'm pretty certain that funding the £1k (or balance thereof) over the weekend containing the month end gives rise to issues? Resulting in the credit being credited to the following month - unless it's via Faster Payment or an internal transfer.
