Hi Pania
I posted on that link about my ex neighbour, thinking about it since, I have a feeing it was the RSPCA my neighbour used, they paid a contribution towards the costs and the operation was done in her usual vets. You only need a contribution anyway because of the insurance.
Thats huge excess  a bit of a shock when you think you are covered, who was it with? I just signed up for M&S pet insurance today ticcked £0 excess, but makes you wonder about the small print.
I wonder how that lady on the thread got on, might be worth posting on there to bump it up to see if she found someone to help.0 -
Hi Zippy and all other posters,
Just to let you know that the insurance was with More Than.
My friend chose a voluntary xs of £50 however as the op is over a certain amount, the voluntary xs becomes void and 15% of the total vets fee becomes due!!! (insert EEEK here!!!)
Word of advice CHECK THE SMALLPRINT!!!!
However, and heres the happy part. The rspca put her in contact with a company named "Tailwaggers trust." they have offered to pay a small amount towards the excess and her parents now know the financial situation and will cover the rest. I'll put a link on the previous thread if i get the chance. every little helps as they say. Thanks to all for assisting to sort this out

I used to know a vet and asked her about issues like this. They said they would deal with the issue first, then come to an arrangement regarding cost, whatever and however long it takes the animal always comes first.0

Thanks for the update Pania, Glad it worked out OK
If you get chance do put a link on the other thread for the other lady, it must a awful worry when you can't afford treatment for your pet.
Mike good to hear that there are vets like that around, sadly it appears not all put the animals first, as the lady on the other thread was refused.0
