Ok firstly I don't eat chili's so any advice would be great.
I'm looking to get a couple of small/compact/bush type chili plant for my brother to be potted in his back porch. He can eat Scotch bonnets but doesn't want anything hotter.
I don't mind buying a seedling or plant as I've heard it hard to get chili seeds to germinate.
So what chili pepper plants should I get him. Also should mention appearance doesn't matter to him as he's blind.

My recommendation would be "pretty in purple":

It's a small, compact bush that produces a prolific amount of chillies. They've a decent heat, but not as hot as a Scotch Bonnet. Although appearance in this case is not important, they are a very attractive plant. Seeds are available from here, but there is an £8 minimum order.
Just out of interest, how will he know when they're ripe?If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
Thanks MrBadExample, That's what's worrying me too, when will he know when their ripe. But I or my parents visit him atleast 2/3 times aweek so I guest we could tell him. At the moment I've got a couple of chilli plants in the greenhouse which he will be getting once ripe. Its just he's showing interest in cooking so wants to try and grow a couple of things in pots to begin with. Going to give him 4 tubs to put herbs in and thought the chillis as an added bonus.0
