Getting a sofa into new house, will it fit?

Hi all, bit of a strange one.
We just moved into our new house and were our looking for sofas today.
One of the big questions we had was "will it fit through the doors into the living room?"
Now, the doors are all smaller than even the smallest dimension of the sofas we looked at but I guess you can get threm through at an angle if you have enough turning space.
But how to figure this out? Is there anyway of determining if we can get a sofa in without having to spend £100s on an upholsterer to take it apart and put it back together again?
Thanks.

Hi,
if you take cushions and legs/feet off it will make it easier in a tight space, have a read here, see if it helps.0 -
Assuming it's a UPVC one can you take the glass unit out of the living room window and get it in that way?0

We couldn't get a standard sofa into our old house (narrow, Victorian doorways). We ended up miscalculating and sending it back. In the end, we bought a modular sofa that comes apart!0

Double glazing is split into several very narrow units, so thats a non starter. Thanks anyway Sandoval.
We do have 120cm of passageway but the door is smaller in every dimension than either of the sofas we liked. Boo hoo.
I guess its just a case of order and pray! No other way to find out really. If it doesnt fit it goes into the garage until the upholsterer comes or back to the shop.Mortgage debt - [STRIKE]£8,811.47 [/STRIKE] Paid off!0 -
To get into a room with a small turn (narrow corridor) normally the best way is to stand it on it's end and then lift it slightly and push the bottom end through the door and then pull it through. You might need to twist the sofa while you do this if it's wider than the door
You can unscrew the feet on most sofas.0 -
Might give you a couple more cms, if you took the door off the frame. I remember doing this to get a piece of furniture into my room but for the life of me I can't remember what.0

Get a suite from DFS, by the time it arrives it will have fallen apart anyway.:rotfl::D0

Our sofa wouldn't go through the front door. The delivery man was prepared with a screwdriver set and took the door off it's hinges. He said it happens all the time, so they come prepared to take doors off! Here I go again on my own....0

Ours was able to come straight through the back door and in.
However, I decided to pay an extra £100 and have one that came apart when it was bought. Although I knew I didn't need that option at the time I didn't want to get caught out if we move.0
