House Border Hedge being removed

It might be worth going back to your deeds and see if there is anything on there about the fence line. Ours clearly states we are responsible for the boundary on the left (when standing at the back of the property) and that there has to be a minimum of a 6ft solid fence.
Wouldn't matter what the deeds say. OP has already stated that the hedge is grown in the neighbours border therefore it is the neighbour's prerogative to do as they wish.
Even if they were responsible for the boundary it is very rare to have a stipulation of the type/height of a boundary feature. If it stated that the neighbour was responsible for maintaining the boundary (without a height stipulation), a 6 inch high picket fence would meet the terms of the deeds. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. They'll be replaceable it with something probably a fence. Hence the you'll feel naked while we take it down. Not You'll feel naked from now on.
I don't like hedges in gardens take up valuable bed space.
The neighbourly thing would be to offer pay half for a new fence.0 -
You should be glad, who trimmed your side?
I was glad when my new neighbour moved in and removed the dividing hedge as my old neighbour never cut my side and if I wanted it cut I had to do it myself.0
