Thule aero roof bars and compatible roof storage systems.

Wondering if anyone out there can help.

We currently have a 2001/y reg Citreon Picasso. A couple of years ago Hubby went out and bought some Thule roof bars and mountings which we have used a number of times for moving items like flat pack sheds etc. However while venturing down the 'lets go camping' route have found we will need to use the roof bars for storage. Yesterday only to find the fittings are not compatible with the aero bars, they are too narrow and not long enough to fit over the roof bars. Instore staff have said they will ring up the manufacturer on monday to see if the fittings can be purchased to fit but, the likely hood would be having to return the rack as it wont be any good.

Does anyone know firstly if there is any likelyhood of us obtaining larger fittings and where from or alternatively which systems are compatible with the aero bars that wont cost the earth.

You won't get that to fit on aero bars. Thule do their own version (page 30 of the 2010 catalogue http://basilicon.ipapercms.dk/Thule/thulecatalogue2007/english/ ) but the prices will make your eyes water. Start from £151 in halfords but will be cheaper elsewhere.
