SMP and Benefits??

I would appreciate any help please.
My daughter is expecting twins in a couple of months, which is an absolute joy to her and her husband and to the whole family. :T:THowever, she is the main breadwinner - they can't live on just her husband's salary. Her company don't have an occupational maternity pay scheme, so she will only have the statutory maternity pay, which with some savings they have, she will be able to take a year's maternity leave. This would, however clean out their savings, leaving nothing for emergencies. Would they qualify for any benefits while she is on maternity leave? She is planning on returning to her job after her leave.

She will get child tax credits and possibly working tax credits depending on their joint income. And child benefit.
