Hi all
Im wondering if anyone can help me with the following:-
I am a mature student on a degree course and receiving Maintenance Loan and the Special Support Grant and the Lone Parent Learning Allowance I think it is called?? I have one child and am a single parent.
I also work part time and pay tax and NI as earn above the approx 6k threshold.
What I cant seem to clarify is what I have to declare to Tax Credits? Do I have to declare any of the above payments from Student Loans (Im sure I dont have to declare the Maintenance Loan part as its a loan).
If I do have to declare then Im really going to struggle as Im sure there will be a big drop in the amount of WTC I receive. Although I work, I have a mortgage and car to pay for and losing the car isnt an option as its a necessity to carry out my employment.
Im dreading being told that this will be the case as I dont see how I can carry on with the course
Any help would be greatly received xx

yes its good to declare them but as a single parent, the burseries and grants you recieve are not counted as income and so are disregarded when working out your WTC and CTC so you shouldn't have any issues with it.TSB: £4900
