cost to sell my flat

i have just accepted an offer of 82500 on my lease hold flat in southport, and when i rang my solicitors up for a cost to sell it they quoted me £800 plus vat. Speaking to a friend he said this was an awful lot. I understand flats and lease hold properties require more work to sort out these details, but am i been charged more than i should be. Or does anyone know of any places they'd recommend. thanks jon

Just below £800 is the standard charge for conveyancing only from a high-street solicitor in my part of Scotland, so doesn't sound too unreasonable consider you've already accepted an offer and the solicitor won't be doing any marketing....
