Question about Green Glue

Existingroom has had wallpaper on the wall. Scraped it all off and am planning on putting up an extra layer of plasterboard with green glue sandwiched in between old board and new.
How clean does the old board have to be? Will old remnants of paste or snippets of wallpaper interfere with the green glue?
