Hi i woul;d like to donate my pc old (desk top) for a good cause i was wondering if any of you guys had any sites which i could utilise.

Also before i donote i would like top wipe the hard drive could any body direct me to useful site to facilitie this please ta.:j

There seem to be relatively few places that take old PCs on an official basis.

I'm guessing that the reason is partly to do with 'Elf and Safety and liability, part due to the fact that the operating system will be old and insecure and new Windows licences cost lots of money, and partly because taking an old PC and making it fully usable and secure takes a measure of skill that volunteer organisations cannot typically afford.

I use Freegle to re-home the older PCs that I acquire.

Use the following if you need a free utility to remove your personal data from the hard disk, but be aware that it will also remove the OS:

Any not so well off families in your area would be very greatful for your old PC.
As for registered charities...
I used to work for one, and believe me when I say they aren't at all charitable.......
