  • you need a wireless adsl broadband router and when you configure it you will be able to surf wireless to your hearts content, and if you have been with aol for more than your contract, if you ring them up and cancel or talk about thier new wireless package they will send you the router free....if you stay with them ....happy days
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!

Your broadband and router are not 'in' your desktop PC.

Your broadband is on your phone line and the wireless router plugs into that.

The router then connects to your desktop PC via an ethernet cable and to your laptop via a wireless signal.

If your laptop has 802.11 already built in, it has the necessary hardware without you needing a USB dongle.

If you buy a router with ADSL modem built in then it replaces your current modem.

PHONE LINE -> Router -> Desktop PC (Wired)/Laptop(Wireless)
