How long does it take to get electricity bill
We're with N power, got a dispute going on with them at the moment, have 2 meters, whenever we have our meters read, it takes about 6 week+ to get the bill, which always states its an estimate
MY question is, how long does it take for a bill to be sent out, is it just N power or do other companies take so long. I had a call from a representative saying the serial numbers were sorted out and they would send me an amended bill out, I asked them to send someone to read the meters first, this was 2 weeks ago, meter man came out, said he had to re-set the terminal cos he wasnt told we had 2 meters, so I'm wondering if the reading has been passed on properly. Or is it normal to wait 6 weeks for a bill?
Thanks
Sue

Once they've got the details set up, it should only take a few days, say 15 days at most. I think Npower are a bit backlogged with billing queries needing sorting though, as it's just taken them 4 months to sort out a simple query of mine that just needed a cancel and rebill of an account.
This one sounds a bit more complex. If you are still getting nowhere in say a month, I would advise complaining to energywatch, as that may speed up the problem.
I would take your own meter readings as well every so often and keep a note of them so you can tell if the meter readings they are using are OK or not.Indecision is the key to flexibility0 -
Hi annie, we've asked Energywatch for help, they havent been very helpful so far, they've written to them once, I've sent 2 letters myself, had a better response from my own letters. We take a reading every night at the same time, and are keeping a close eye on our consumption, its a lot less than the estimates they send us.
Thanks for the reply.

I've had similar problems with NPower, I used to get a card through to read my meter, which I duly did. But then didn't get a bill for a couple of months! They then realised what they were doing and sorted themselves out but I still don't seem to receive quarterly bills, they're a bit random!
Good luck with getting it sorted.MFW :T
