BG Click Energy - Impending price rise

Maybe I will give them a go then, I do feel that it would nice to go with a company that has ethical practices and is not just in it for the money, if prices do drop then I would assume they will be one of the first to implement the increase. Watingi to see what Powergen reply to my emai lwith first but then will take action. Were your parents in credit with Powergen Paul and if so did they get the money back promptly?

I've looked Ebico but am concerned that due to their size the handover period could be quite stressful, you cannot manage your account online either as far as I could see, I was reluctant to go with Atlantic as have had my fingers burnt with them before but seeing as their parent company has changed might risk it.
THanks for everyones help

You can manage your account online in terms of meter readings, paying and viewing your bills. Ebico billing is provided by Southern Electric who are part of the Scottish and Southern Energy Group who also own the Atlantic brand. The online interface seems to be same across all the brands.
I 've been a customer for a over a year. The switchover even with incorrect meter readings was relatively painlessly and the billing error resolved to my satisfaction. Switchovers take time, just over 5 weeks in my case, but so far as I have read this is about the norm.
Since Ebico don't pay the comparisson sites they don't have to inflate their bills to cover marketing costs. The comparisson sites make much of Ebico small size but since the billing service is provided by Southern Electric should they happen to shut up shop it is unlikely that you will be left high and dry. Anyway I've had no customer service issues, have not had write any e-mails about my billing, where as with my previous supplier I had at least a year worth of incorrect billing to complain about. I don't think any utility provider has a great record with dealing with anything more than trivial problems. The call centre operators and computer systems have limited scope to deal with complex problems.
Unfortunately gas and electricity prices are on an upward trend due to rising demand, insufficient resources/infrastructure and companies need for large profits. Some suppliers will lead the trend to raise prices and others will follow. The BG click refinement appears to allow BG to both lead and follow price increase trends. It will be interesting to see if prices do go down what strategy BG general tariffs and BG click follow.0 -

What a great phrase!
It is exactly what they are doing - a marketing ploy, pure and simple.
I suppose you can't blame them in some ways. For years BG have started the round of price increases and lost out to other firms by customers switching(naively) to them.0 -
I took the plunge and changed over to Ebico, it let me do it online which was great, they weren't the cheapest but I feel all warm and fuzzy now I've done it!
