Toshiba aren't a bad make. The specification is low, so if it's just for basic office tasks and surfing the internet, then it should be ok.
They might want to look at Dell, at the moment, you can get an Inspiron 1300 with a slightly faster processor and 15.4" widescreen for less than £10 more including delivery.0 -
Do you mean this one at £429 ?

No it's the Celeron 1.6 with 15.4" widescreen, it comes to £384.25.
Click on this link:

then reduce the Support to 90 day Collect and Return and change the LCD to 15.4" widescreen.0 -
I reckon this one's a better bet from Misco:

Long battery life and lots of connectivity plus solid build. Ordered one yesterday from Ebuyer for £350 delivered but I think they are out of stock there at the moment. It was £30 cheaper on Misco last week.0 -
Running Windows XP on less than 512MB RAM is not a good idea...0

can I ask whats the difference between the below as they both seem to cost the same ? Which is best ?
512MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x256) [add £52.88 or £2/month1]
Increasing the amount of memory is an easy way to improve performance
512MB 533MHz Single Channel DDR2 SDRAM (1x512) [add £52.88 or £2/month1]"The time is always right to do what is right"0 -
with all the probelms in this forum and others at the moment with toshiba laptops I would be tempted to give this offer a miss.Scottish proverb - "Never drink whisky with water and never drink water without whisky"0
