Dreams - Avoid!!!

Options
Ordered a bed from Dreams a couple of weeks ago, paid & arranged delivery for moving day in our new place. Both myself & my partner very happy!

Until today, our moving day! It says on the leaflet that if you do not recieve a call before 10.30am to tell you when your delivery slot is, you'll need to give them a call. So my partner did.
Indian Call Centre: "Oh, we haven't got your down for delivery today!"
Partner: "Well when have you got us down for delivery?"
Indan Call Centre: "Umm... actually its out of stock. We can deliver it next Saturday!"
Partner: "Why did we not recieve a phonecall to tell us this?"
Indian Call Centre: "Oh its an online problem!"
My partner not being the argumentative type said fine & hung up. That leaves us without anything to sleep on for a whole week. Not good

Then I got involved.
Me: "We're supposed to be having a bed delivered today, my partner's just called & said its not in stock till next week. Why haven't we recieved a call about this?"
Indian Call Centre: "Sorry about that madam."
Me: "So can you give me a delivery date for this bed? We have not got anything to sleep in tonight. We're in our new house. What are you going to do?"
Indian Call Centre: "Actually the bed isn't in stock until September"
Me: So you're telling me that I won't have anything to sleep on until September?"
Indian Call Centre: "We can offer you another bed."
Me: "I don't want another bed. I pacifically ordered this bed. When we ordered & paid for it in store we weren't told it wasn't in stock. And I haven't recieved a phonecall to explain this to me."
Indian Call Centre: "I'm afraid there's nothing else we can do for you apart from offer you another bed that is in stock."
Me: "I'm not happy. I'd rather have a refund & go elsewhere then."
Indian Call Centre: "We'll give you a £50 voucher."
Me: "No thanks"

The phone line was absolutely awful. I could bearly understand what he was saying due to the line as well as his accent. He also kept me on hold for 10 minutes when I demanded a refund. I'm absolutely livid about this. Its caused me unneccessary stress on my moving day! I'd like to write a letter of complaint but all the website offers me is the Customer Services line that sends you to the Indian Call Centre.

If you're after a bed, I'd say avoid Dreams completely. Complete waste of time!!!!!!!!!!!

If it's not available until September, then I'd insist on a full refund and cancelling the order.

We got ours from Benson Beds recently, and actually had a really positive experience. They organised the delivery in the shop, and checked availability before we paid!! It turned up on the correct day.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

I gotta say I love the low-key racism of the repeated use of "Indian Call Centre" to imply that the people on the end of the phone struggle with the English language.

    Particularly in light of:

you two that really isn't helping is it.
Would you have a go at me if my spelling and grammer wasn't up to scratch? well i suggest you don't bother, i have medical reason why mine aren't.

Sandoval you seem to bring the race card up a lot on these forums, makes me wonder why.
All the OP was doing was painting a picture of the scenario they were in,

Lots of companies use Indian call centres, i have problems with them too (ooooooooo racist i hear you shout)
Well no its the poor quality line, and the dialect i struggle with, I have problems understanding a scot with their dialect doesn't make me a scot hater..

I'm partially deaf, too wanna start on me.

OP, the bed you slept in last night can you not take that with you when you move.

I would suggest paying a visit to the store which you bought the bed, and complain there, do not be fobbed off, you were due a bed today, not September.

One thing i would check too if you select another bed, make sure it gets delivered to the right address, i have visions of it being delivered to your address you are moving out of, due to admin error.

    Good luck

    Hi,

I would do as Mupette says - go back to the store this morning - get them to sort it ....

I suspect that if you did a poll of people in this country, there would be a large percentage who can not stand Indian Call Centres - not because of racism - but because they are terrible .... they have a script that they must follow - so if your problem is not on their list - hard luck - half the time you can not understand a word they say ...

    A lot?

Care to enlighten me about all these supposed incidents? I can think of only one off the top of my head but if you provide four or five links to when I've brought up the "race card" then I'd be happy to concede your point that I do it "a lot".

Like when people say "pacifically" instead of "specifically"?
