Can I ask who you have your travel insurance with? It's always handy to have another company to try.
I called Nationwide Travel Insurance tonight and it's an additional £20 for worldwide cover. They covered the OH's PEMC with no additional premium.
Haven't got the details to hand - but we did it via moneysupermarket.com (had to pick the 2nd cheapest - only 12p more - but the 1st in the list didn't cover Egypt!).0 -
I find it intriguing that they have increased their fee for SWIFT transfers to European banks to £25. I just transferred 560 euros to my bank in Greece for 75c. How do they justify the charge-apart from saying that all the other banks charge the same? I exchanged £500 for euros and the total cost was £1.20 in fees, 75c for the transfer and 20p charged by Nationwide for transferring my cash from my account to the organisation that was exchanging my money. Now I will withdraw my money from Greek ATMs without Nationwide charges.0

Which company did you use to do that transfer?0

I transfer my cash with nobanx.com0

I thought this started on Monday (1st November) and therefore Sunday (31st October) would be the last day?
I hope so, as I am arriving in Spain on Sunday and planned to withdraw €300 on both mine and my wifes Nationwide Visa Debit card upon arrival.0 -

Same sort of idea as currencyfair.com (not to mention betfair) ?0 -
Yes but from what I can see, cheaper0

I've used them twice now for sums around £500. Although you may have to wait a few days to get your money exchanged I have been very impressed. The first exchange dropped into my Greek bank account in three days and I have just authotised another transfer of funds0

Three years ago I opened a Nationwide account, after Nat West introduced 2.75% forex charges. I have been using the Nationwide account as my main current account.
Now I shall probably open a Metro Bank account. I only need to withdraw about £500 from a foreign ATM to recover the costs of travelling to Borehamwood to open the account.
Besides, I CANNOT get away with watching all those smug adverts where Nationwide referred to other banks offering a good deal & "hoiking it away", then let them do exactly the same to me.0
