How will they define the "Main Account" bit for holiday insurance?........so i transfer a few samall DD.s for monthly payments, for example.
  • Yesterday my wife and our Bus Passes took us into our nearest main town, result:
In a couple of weeks we will no longer be Members of Nationwide, they just lost both our Flex Accts, Credit Cards and E-Savings Accounts.

Our thanks must be extended to 'GB' who like the other 'GB' screwed up BIG Time so all we can do to show our disgust is take our business elsewhere and after around 12 YEARS it's like a breath of fresh air, I only hope a lot more of the 'Good Customers' follow suit!

P.s. We have also removed the GB from the back of the car, sadly in certain countries in the EU you stand out like a sore thumb as a target for thieves!

Unless your number plate has the EU flag and GB on the left side, you are required to display a GB plate when taking your car abroad.

You mean the car being RHD and having UK plates wasn't enough of a sign?
  • I know its unBritish but I think it is time for the great British Public to take to the streets, well the pavements outside the Nationwide Building Societies.
I will be outside the Wimbledon Hill Branch on Monday morning, feel fre to join me.

Lets sort out the great British bank rip off scam

Hmm a decent idea but unless you do it outside the head office in Swindon I doubt the bigwigs would notice. Even if you did they'd probably close the blinds or immediately order the construction of a sandpit into which they could all bury thier heads.
Mixed Martial Arts is the greatest sport known to mankind and anyone who says it is 'a bar room brawl' has never trained in it and has no idea what they are talking about.

The girl I spoke to said they'd taken on extra phone staff ahead of the letter going out so I suspect they're expecting it to be unpopular
  • Do You Need to Gripe? Groubal Instead!

It would seem that some other companies also have unhappy customers who feel they are ignored and are working together.

  • I was very impressed by the Nationwide today - I had a long telephone conversation followed by a summary message on the secure banking in response to the complaint I lodged.

Whilst I don't agree with the removal of account features, when you speak to someone high up enough in the society to explain all the changes and reasoning behind them you can at least explain where the building society is 'coming from'. I was also impressed that the caller was prepared to discuss each of the points I had raised and explain each one in detail - I was on the phone for 20 minutes (the secure message identified him as a senior customer consultant).

Once again the excellent service I've received from the Nationwide will prompt me to stay with them at least a while longer - even if I don't agree with the way the society is managed and the products they offer.

A Senior Customer Consultant is not high up in the society. Their standard call centre staff are called customer service/sales consultants, so a senior one is only one level up from the bottom rung!
