Not sure if it would be classed as cheap - suppose it depends what your budget it, but it's healthy and takes 20 mins to make
oh and is delicious
Chicken Asian Broth which is from the Jamie Oliver book - it's a 20 minute receipe and we have it every week!
Chop up some chicken and rub it in oil & chinese 5 spice & Thai Spice
Cook the chicken in a pan - it just needs 5 mins on each side so its cooked but not overcooked.
When chicken goes on, put a litre of water in a pan to boil and add a chicken stock cube.
Chop up a thumb size piece of ginger and a chilli
5 minutes before the chicken is due to finish, add to the boiling water
some soy sauce
mangetout
baby sweetcorn
water chestnuts
beansprouts
any other veg you fancy.
chilli
ginger
rice noodles
Pop a sieve over a jug and collect the stock in the jug and the veg in the sieve - distribute the veg & rice noodles over the bowls and add the chicken.
Pour over the broth and enjoyA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Mike's chops
(so called cos hubby's uncle Mike 'invented' them).
Marinate pork chops (or steaks) in soy sauce and garlic granules and black pepper. Grill/bake/GF/BBQ until cooked. Serve with stir fry veg.
Gives a lovely savoury taste to them.0 -
fried rice - vegetable or chicken from leftover roast
cooked, cold rice
leftover roast chicken (or pork/beef), skin removed
whatever veg you have lying around (we like spring onions, frozen peas, courgette, broccoli etc)
garlic clove crushed
piece of ginger finely diced
light soy sauce
pinch of salt
white pepper
sesame oil
an egg, lightly beaten
5 spice powder
heat the oil in a wok and add the garlic and ginger
add cooked chicken and cook until slightly crispy
add veg (except peas)
add rice and stir fry on high, moving about continuously, until piping hot
add frozen peas, soy sauce, salt, pepper and 5 spice
finally, make a well in the centre of the wok, crack egg into it and when nearly set, stir into rice until cooked through.
Serve - we like it with cucumbers thinly sliced, then sprinkled with rice vinegar, a pinch of salt and a pinch of sugar. A bowl of miso soup goes down well with it too.:heart2::heart2:On ne voit bien qu'avec le coeur :heart2::heart2:we're debt freeeeeeeeeeeee....FREEEEDOM!!! :j:T0 -

Jacket potatoes are always welcome in our house. OK takes a while to cook but pretty much no prep0
-
1lb braising steak cut into chunks
Peel and chop as fast as you can
3 carrots
handful of mushrooms
2 onions.
Throw them all in the casserole dish with
1 pint Bisto best gravy, a big handful of lentils and some dried fine herbs.
Bung it in the oven for a couple of hours on a medium heat, lovely with mashed spuds or crusty bread.

We love macaroni cheese and oven baked risotto. We also make home made wraps and have home made pizza quite often. They're all things that I can usually make from things that we have in the house so are cheap and they're all easy to make. Fish pies another favourite but that's not as cheap as we like salmon and prawns in ours.
I wont post the recipes for them all here (I'd be here all day) but you can probably Google or they're all on my website. I won't post the link but it's in my profile if you want to have a look.
I tend to do a meal plan once a week and I try and cook one new thing each week, which is to stop me cooking the same things all the time, which I have been known to do
There's some great recipes on here for me to try - Thanks0
