Slightly wrong name on insurance policy.

Hi,
I recieved my new insurance policy documents recently. And instead of the full name "bradley xxxxx" the insurance documents state "brad xxxxx".
How does this effect my policy, and how will I be charged for asking for it to be changed?

If the name is wrong you need to get it corrected! If the mistake is yours you could be charged their admin fee for making changes.
(If its a brand new policy it might be that it avoids paying the admin charge by simply cancelling and starting again.)0 -
I've got a similar question...
my policy say Mrs instead of Miss. Do I need to get this changed? I swear it wasn't my mistake but I bet they'd say it was!Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -

Rang my isurer. They sorted everything after spending around 60 seconds total on the phone. Slight thumbs up for OneQuote there.
Thank you.0 -
The wrong name on a document if flagged promptly will almost always be the fault of the issuer/broker.
If you think about it, I might not hear you correctly or make a typo but it is unlikely you don't know who you are!
And if push came to shove, you complained and it went to FOS, what would they think?
Given that adjudicators get into all sorts of trouble themselves if they get a complainant's name wrong the firm is likely to be on a hiding to nothing by arguing.0
