Focus rear shocks leaking
Hi,
Went out to wash the car today for the first time in a month, started cleaning the rear wheel and noticed alot of fluid on the inside of the wheel. looked up and looks as though the shock absorbers had it... went to do the other side and that's exactly the same.
How can they of gone this quickly? And does anyone know if they're covered on warranty before I go visit them and get fed a load of rubbish?
There are speed bumps where my other half works but she's always careful over them.
Car is only 5 months old (10 reg) and done just under 7,000 miles.

This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.

5 month old shocks shouldn't be leaking unless they've been subjected to *seriously* extreme conditions, and for the pair to be leaking something must be wrong. Perhaps there's been a bad batch? The Ford Warranty may well say they are excluded as a wear and tear item like brake pads, but I'd certainly be pressing for a big contribution from Ford. If they won't give you what you want I'm sure if you make a big fuss about leaking rear shocks on a five month old car loudly in the dealers with potential customers around they'll try and be more amicable
Remember you can always walk and try and see what another dealer will offer you.

The front shocks on my touran started to weep quite badly and at 2 years old were replaced (circa 18K miles).
VW did the work at service time (under warranty) and the mechanic i spoke to suggested it was becoming a more common problem.
He also had a "bleep" of a job getting one of them off as well - his knuckles were a right old state.
I'd imagine they'd replace them under warranty no argument unless your car looks like it was used for rallying :rotfl:0 -
OP Qushquai shocks were being replaced under warranty recently. So not an isolated incident.0
