Any ideas of cost to convert desktop to rack mount?

As title and due to me buying a new desk that has a total of 8U of rackmounting space 4 each side.

I would like to have the contents of my desktop put into a 4u rackmounted case, any ideas on what a company may charge for this?

Should be straight forward to do it yourself.

Ah, right, that explains the weird-looking metal bits on the desk that I couldn't figure out a purpose for!

Out of purely academic interest, how much was the desk?

If your case will fit, just stick a rack shelf in and put it on that. You might need to support it at the back, but you'd have to do that with a rack case as well.

It does, I found it for £320 with next day delivery, next mission is a new office chair.

Are you talking about this desk? It doesn't look neither like 4U height nor does it look deep enough for a standard 19" rack mount case.
