travel insurance / medical conditions

I had surgery a couple of years ago to close a hole in my heart. It never caused me any problems so it was purely to make sure it wont cause problems in the future.
Does this need to go on travel insurance forms?

I'm planning to go on a prebooked tour and i'm not sure whether i need to put it on there & get it signed off by a doctor.

Normally insurers want to know about any heart problem "ever".

So check if this is the declaration required, and if so,inform any insurer before taking out a policy and see what they say.

If i don't declare it does that mean my whole policy will be invalid or just that i wont be able to claim anything specifically relating to the heart op?

It's likely the policy will be invalid if you haven't declared something they ask about!

There will be a condition in the policy along the lines of "failure to declare any material facts may invalidate the policy"

Ah, just looked at one that asked if i'd ever had any kind of heart problems or surgery so i assume it's all like that.. boo!

Trying out some of the specific ones for pre existing conditions now. Looks like it'll be about £50 which i guess ill just have to put up with
