Thomson Build Tour Own Holiday

Hi folks,

I have been looking on the Thomson site at the build your own package section. Can anyone give me any feedback, if they have used these type of holidays, and are there any drawbacks or special conditions i should be aware of.

only thing is you sometimes have to get your own transfer , which is probably better than being dropped off at a Thomsons central point.
Thomsons BYO is very good I have booked my mom on a few and saved her a fortune on single suplements.
If there is only one of you check the twin price first its often cheaper than the single

I have just been pricing up a holiday on build your own to Tunisia and its coming out £300 cheaper than booking a Thomson package.

What do you mean by a central point.

I thought if i selected the coach transfer option, that would be to the chosen hotel?

The transfers pre-booked on a Thomsons package or build your own are to your selected hotel,they only drop you off at a central point in the resort you are staying at if it is a flight only booking with transfers added.

Are you sure sloppy...I thought you only got dropped at your selected hotel with a package?

Taken from their site when booking a transfer on a BYO.

Please note that return transfers from the airport to your accommodation must be pre-booked if required. It is not possible to book a transfer on arrival at the resort airport.

Yeah I saw that but it doesnt say its to your hotel but then again it doesnt say central point either ...I think I would just call them to double check before booking..After all I am going NUTS...lol
When I have done BYO for mom to the Son Matias they have all dropped off there and boy as there been moaning from people staying the other end of Palma Nova or Magaluf

It says from airport to your accomodation,which i would of thought was your hotel or apartments,not a central point or that wouldnt be classed as accomodation.

Just phoned Thomsons(just caught them before closing) as i was curious about this and am thinking about booking a BYO and they have just told me BYO pre-booked transfers take you to your hotel like a normal package holiday through them.
Still going to double check again though just to make doubley sure as i hate to think i booked transfers that dropped you off miles from your hotel.
