"things like basic orange juice have jumped from 35p to 59p!!!!
Ecover liquid has gone from £3.84 to £4.30
Coffee has gone up by 30p a bag."
What country are you living? Our current inflation rate is 2.5% as I know. I mean in the UK.

The orange juice price has climbed in Lidl just as it has done in other supermarkets, wholesale price increases and all that was said before in this thread.
I agree LIDL juice is good. They sell two different orange juice cartons - one I think is better than the other I can never remember which - it might be the cheaper one! The cloudy apple you talk about is a favourite of mine - I think it is about 79p (not 59p).0 -

"simpistic" ?
"previoudly" ?
Well, if I care to look, I might find more spelling mistakes. But I won't, because I don't have time.0 -
The official inflation rate does not reflect the true rate of inflation. Prices going up ( or rather, the value of money going down ) = inflation, regardless of the cause or indeed whether it is officially recognised.johnmoney05 wrote:Inflation?

It would by idyllic to be able to buy all groceries/household stuff all 'under one roof' but my dad always encouraged me to shop around which is what he does and now I do, helping to support small shopkeepers, farm shops etc by doing so, and finding some good bargains along the way.0

The thing is the extra added cost of going to all these little shops who, by and large, will charge a small premium over the supermarkets, and also the petrol if they aren't within walking distance. I'm also torn between watching the cash through the month by using the supermarkets and their cheaper pricing policy, and supporting the underdog and my local community and using the small shops in and around my area. I suppose you have to balance it all up - would you rather pay a little bit extra for supporting your local business, or save a few pounds a month and have one supermarket which dictates what you can buy from its ranges and wipes out the competition...?0
