i want a new dvd burner

i currently use a NEC DVD RW ND-3500AG but having probs with burning so i think i will invest in a new one.
taking into account the one i have do i just buy a dvd burner or do i need something the same spec as the one i have, not really sure what im talking about so can some one give a reccomendation on something good but not expensive

Ebuyer selection LG, Samsung and Pioneer look good. LiteOn are probably ok too, just haven't used one for years.0
