Tried this on the 'wanna buy it or do it thread' but didn't get any replies, so I thought I would try here.
I am looking to buy a new laptop in the next few weeks and am not sure where to start or what deals there are out there at the mo.
I will mainly use it to surf the internet and do some basic work. I might occassionally watch a DVD or listen to music on it, but I often use headphones to do this so I am not worried about top-spec speakers.
I still have a licence for office 2007 so am not bothered about deals which include software.
I had an acer a while ago but had real problems with it so am not keen to get another, and I am not keen on cheap/flimsy feeling laptops.
Not sure where to start, so any pointers gratefully received.

For your basic usage, take a look at this Samsung R519 for £294. Will be as new.
This Toshiba Satellite L450D-11V is also good value at £274.
No need to spend more.0
