uvb lights

Options
Not sure if this is the right forum - how long should a uvb last? Have a beardy and only bought the light 2 months ago and it has already run out. The shop just said that sometimes this happens and it is just unfortunate but they cost about 14 pounds so if this happens every time it could get very costly - does anyone know if I have any comeback

2 months is not right - it sounds like an inherent fault, and the shop should replace it.

I use UVC lamps in my pond filter which, in terms of construction, are essentially the same - and they last 1 to 2 years, in use 24 hours a day.

The only other thing I can think of is if you are using a timeswitch which is not designed for use with fluorescent lamps. This can cause them to fail prematurely.
