Stoozing mistake -aarrgghhh!!!!

If you are thinking about putting the whole £11,000 into a one-year fixed account, first make sure that you can afford to pay the monthly minimum payments. I think it will be 1% (£110 per month), but you should check for yourself.
Also, make sure that you can get the money back in time to pay off the card before they start charging you interest. Some banks may take a few days to open the account, or a few days to transfer the money back to you at the end of the year.0 -
thanks salsadanca - good point - i had realised that i needed to make the minimum monthly payments too and that i needed instant access rather than lock away money for a year once i had done a spreadsheet to track exactly what i needed to pay and when to pay it which is something that I had also neglected to initially!! DOH!!
And yes, i do have a maths degree - if anyone needs help with calculating the volume of odd shaped voids my dissertation was on applied mathematics to construction industry applications (injecting volumes of material into voids, densities of expanding materials etc etc)
BUT - and wait for the best part - and also the reason i have been posting so early on a saturday morning - I may have made a mistake with this stoozing business - I have taken the lambasting of other posters - my common sense sometimes lets me down, but I have one word to say to you all - KARMA.
Last night i played the euromillions for the first time in ages and i got 4 numbers and a star!!! I won £165 which gets me out of this stoozing issue anyway - lolololol!!!!!

I took questionabout's advice and read up on the thread about benefiting from free gambling site offers etc.. and had another small result.
PLEASE NOTE i am not condoning or about to turn into a gambler!!!!!
I went on to Ladbrokes and the poker/gaming offers 200% bonus for deposits on new accounts. I duly deposited a small sum and proceeded to play the only game i know - BINGO. A few games in and guess what - a doube line and a full house. All i had to do was churn the deposit to allow me to withdraw the funds. Now i need to wait 24 hours and take out the cash. I am another £87 up!:T:T:T
so thanks questionabout - it was very interesting to research it today. Reading the chat in the game chat room from the bingo "regulars" was also absolutely hilarious and was the best entertainment in a while.
Here is a virtual pint for you .
Golden rule of gambling is quite while you are ahead:D.
Still need to find an instant access savings account with my not so brilliant past credit history (only recently debt free) with after tax effectuve rate of 2.2% to stay up after this "stooz" (if you can call it that) so not quite out of the woods yet.:o:o:oDebts paid off now :j after a life changing journey :money:0 -
Zopa wouldn't work because you don't get the money back in 12 months' time.
You could use regular savers (First Direct do one at 5% for £300 per month) and stick the rest in the highest paying savings account possible. As it is only costing you £440 for a year you could gamble on Premium Bonds (you'll probably lose but at least the money is safe).
