CCCS or Payplan

I am with payplan and have been for 6 years. On the whole I have been very pleased with what they have offered. One or two times early on I felt a bit unsupported and shoulders where shrugged, but I am still in a far better position than I would have been in without them. I also think they have got better (with me anyway) over the last year or so.
It is completely personal preference but which ever decision Payplan or CCCS it will be a right step in the right direction.

I think im going to set up a basic bank account with Nationwide on Monday as i think im right in saying can still have dds and a debit card - has anyone used them?
once that is done I think will go through cccs as looking on website seems ok so will see how goes from there, bit scared about not paying full amounts on loan/credit cards but i suppose cant have want i havent really got0 -
Hiya, i know other people have replied, but i just stumbled across this, and i would say CCCS you should go with if you can, i work for a credit company in collections, and CCCS are easy to get hold of very helpful, and free all the other companys that are free do not offer such a good service.
Hope this helpsDFD 1st January 2016

I'm with the CCCS and they've been brilliant.
I'd recommend going to their website (www.cccs.co.uk) and completing their online debt remedy as it makes you think of all types of likely expenditure - for example, you're allowed a small amount for newspapers/magazines and charity donations.
Expect the first couple of months or so to be a bit grim while the DMP settles down. You'll be inundated with letters and telephone calls. With phone calls, don't go through the security questions and ask them to contact you in writing; if a creditor continues to call, you can send them the 'don't call me' letter - see post #4 on the thread containing letter templates.
I did find that creditors 'calmed down' at the mention of CCCS as they're used to dealing with them. Creditors usually recommend the CCCS too - and many said they were pleased I was with them as they will often not accept DMPs with other organisations.
Good luck!Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***
Paid back just under £50,000 due to some interest added.

Quite pleased with myself as have managed to set up the basic bank account with Nationwide bsoc online - I applied for a flexaccount as it wouldnt let me apply for the cashcard account online to start with. When it got to the result at the end of the application it said I couldnt have the flexaccount (big surprise - NOT lol) but I could carry on and apply for the basic cashcard account online so all done and I wont have to take the kids into town tomorrow and have the stress of trying to open the account with them messing around in the background.

Now I feeling happy from doing this I might pluck up the courage to do the CCCS form online later and get this started as well:eek:0 -

Sounds a fantastic start! And good luck with the CCCS form - you don't have to fill it in all in one go, which is great. You can do a bit, save it, go back later, review, add other bits, etc - and there's no obligation to sign up to anything unless you want to.Debt Jan 2008: £45,566. *** June 2013: DEBT FREE! ***

Hi makemedebtfreeplease, I am just in the process of setting up my dmp with CCCS and it did take some courage to press the submit button on the debt remedy and even though I'm still at the very beginning I am so glad that I did. There are still some hurdles to get over but the relief is great (no more robbing Peter to pay lots of Pauls).
Whichever debt management company (free of course) you decide on I'm sure that you will feel that it is the right decision and that you can start rebuilding your life again.:)
Good Luck and take care

:eek:Just completed the debt remedy on cccs
It says that a DMP would take us 17 years and 3 months to pay off our debts based on our basic income at the moment!!!
The recommended course of action is an IVA but Im really not sure about that - doesnt that mean going to court and possibly losing our house????
:(
Has anyone gone on a DMP that is going to last that long? I know we spent the money and need to pay it back but then again Im also thinking that over the years they have probably had at least what I owe in interest so I really dont know what to do now for the best.
More than anything Im really annoyed at ourselves that we managed to get into such a mess to start with without realising what was happening until it was too late. In the past when we couldnt afford something we would just apply - and get accepted for - another credit card to make up the difference. I know in the long run it will work out better, best to sort it out now rather than when we want to retire in 30 years time!!!
Will have to wait until new bank account stuff comes through before make a decision as lot of the debt is with our bank anyway so gives us time to have a think about it. Any advice/stories about what you did would really help right now as whatever one we go with is going to affect our lives for years to come but hopefully either way things can only get better...0 -
Also got couple of interviews coming up for hopefully better paid job - will I need to tell them about any of this????0

I am on a DMP with Payplan and my plan will not be complete until 2028 on my current terms. I have been with them 6 years already. I am thinking that maybe in the future I will be able to pay more but who knows!!
I am trying to do some full and final settlements (40%) at the moment but most of my creditors seem happy to decline them. So they must be reasonably comfortable in the fact that i am gouing to take at least another 18 years topay off my debt with them!!
Do not know about an IVA I never really looked into that option. Far too strict and rigid for my own personal liking.adde parvum parvo magnus acervus erit
