Can I get a Maestro card with a Basic Account??

I've heard that YBS do one, however you can't apply for this online... and I know that NatWest do a basic account with a Solo card.
Does anyone else know of any banks that do Maestro with a Basic account?
Many thanks

Yorkshire Bank as you said do offer it, and also Cyldesdale as their the same company.
I've heard that Lloyds might be offering a VISA on their basic account now but I am not 100% sure.0 -
Have a basic bank account with Clydesdale and received a letter from them a while ago saying that within the next few months everyone will be upgraded from a single use card (ie the one where you can only use it in a hole in the wall to get money out) to a Maestro card
I must be one of the only people who doesn't want them to do this. I am quite happy with my bankcard and it has made me more disciplined with money. I can't at the moment buy something whish i think i might like in the shop, and have to walk to the cashpoint, by which time i've convinced myseld i don't really need it.
What are the chance of getting them to chance their policy just for me?Debt of £6300 cleared in 5 years, now ZERO0 -

Probably not very high lol. I do prefer the Maestro Cards for various reasons.
In your case though, perhaps its time to change to a different basic account with just a cash card service? Or have you tried asking if they will provide you just with a CashCard on your account?0 -

Didnt your letter from Clydesdale have a slip on the bottom that you could fill in if you'd like to opt out of receiving a dual function card, and retain your current single function ATM card?
The letter I received from them did.
