How long did it take you to find it?Unless you specifically search for a RAM module with those parameters you are much more likely to find a CL4 rating.
Let's look at the reviewsThe reason that I wanted to buy this ram is because the advertise(ment) said Integral. When it was delivered to me I found that it was easy-ram brand. NOT integral.
So we are talking about some dodgy below-standard RAM.
Now try finding PC2 5300 rated less than CL5.
Just give it up...you know that I am right.0 -
calm down first thing to do is redo procedure, and refit old memory, if l/t works relief.....did you earth yourself before touching memory [ touch rad valve metal] use 1 or 2 memory sites to doble check right memory
example...[from 7dayshop.com]
A small outline dual inline memory module (SODIMM) consists of a number of memory components (usually black) that are attached to a printed circuit board (usually green). SODIMMs get their name because they are smaller and thinner than regular DIMMs. The gold pins on the bottom of the SODIMM provide a connection between the module and a socket on a larger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a SODIMM are not connected.
Module Size: 1GB
Package: 200-pin SODIMM
Specs: DDR2 PC2-5300 • CL=5 • Unbuffered • NON-ECC • DDR2-667 • 1.8V • 128Meg x 64 •

Can't grow tired of that. Do you think the fact that you finding a single 2GB example in the USA, proves me wrong? :rotfl:
Please, we are looking for 1GB in the UK.
You have just proved my point.
That ordinarily, the majority of PC2-5300 will be rated at CL5, as indicated by what is available on the Crucial website, as well as the majority of PC2-4200/4300 being rated at CL4.
So using the machine in question, it would be advantageous to use the recommended PC2-4200/4300, rather than the PC2-5300 module recommended by Crucial.
Even if you were able to find lower latency PC2-5300 in the UK at the same price as bog standard PC2-4200/4300, there would still be no advantage.
Even in that case it would be better to seek out lower latency PC2-4200/4300.
Don't insult your own intelligence by further arguing. I'm already making it child's play for you to understand.0
