  • The only thing is, its very slow running now. Would this be all the extra programs I have installed? It takes forever to start up!!

    Thank you

    The logs are clean now.

As to the slowness I can't say. You don't seem to have many programs running that would cause the trouble. Few thoughts ...

    1. Many people complain about the length of time computers take to boot up. It's one tof the things folk hope Vista will cure but I think they will be disappointed.

    2. Adding more memory might help speed things up.

    2. Like I mentioned at the start of all this, you do use P2P filesharing and this can be both a resource hog and, most likely, the reason you became infected in the first place. Maybe you should think twice about using P2P.

    3. Hit ctrl+alt+del together and bring up the task manager. Click twice on the 3rd tab along "CPU". This will bring up the processes using the most CPU resources. Let us know which resource(s) are at the top of the list and how much % they are using up. Maybe that will reveal something more.

    4. There could be processes hiding from HJT (although I doubt it) so, if this becomes a real bugbear, you will need to dig deeper with more scanners etc. Given all the hard work you have done so far this may not appeal to you.

Have a think and let us know what your further investigations reveal.
