Have recently separated and am living in marital home with 3 'big' kids. Hubby forcing house sale, but not sure if I would be better to rent or buy. Don't know how to work this out. Been to a solicitor but found he wasn't much help
any suggestions?

Will you have a deposit available from the sale/settlement?
Find out what sort of mortgage you can get on your income/deposit, then check if there are houses for sale that fit your needs, at that price range.
Are there rental properties that fit your need available at a figure you could afford?
Research your region's recent house price movements, so you are not panicked into buying if there is no rush.Act in haste, repent at leisure.

How old are your "big kids"?
That will affect whether you have to sell, and if they are really big they can pay some rent to cover the mortgage.Been away for a while.0 -
Are you joint owners or is he the sole owner? If he's the sole owner, did you contribute towards the home? Age of children? What kind of child suppport is he offering?
Find another solicitor!

Thanks for replying. Kids are 16, 18 and 20. 1 at colleage, 1 due to start uni and 3rd just got a job 3 weeks ago. Child support a joke, 50 quid a week for the youngest. Joint owners, we both work full time, but he earns triple what I do and stands to inherit a fortune from family!0
