New builds - what discounts have you had recently?

New build flats near me have been reduced from £175k to £159k. They have been built for over a year and the vast majority look empty. I'd say you could get a good discount on those. The EA who is marketing them has big posters in there shop window saying "summer price bonanza!" I think they are getting desperate.
On something that's only recently completed you probably won't get much off though. But who knows go in low and see what happens.Debt Is Slavery.0 -
Speaking with sales advisors for new homes today barratt and elan homes they said you will need 20% deposit to put down so it will pass the mortgage survey, they said that all sites now ask for this
Is this true? I understand you need a good deposit to get a good mortgage rate but not as a requirement for reserving a new home
Any advice would be welcome0
