DPD parcel delivery...not to me!

Hi,
I ordered some items form Allsaints online store. The items were dispatched via DPD courier. I had an email sent to me saying that delivery would be made betwenn 9.04am and 10.04am. On the day at this time my boyfriend was in the house, he didnt leave until midday. There was no knock on the door whilst he was at home.
When I checked the onkine status later that day it said that my parcel has been delivered to no.20 and signed for by someone called "Marland". When I got home there was no calling card or anytihng stating this.
I went to no.20 and the guy living there didnt have my parcel. He hadnt been in all day as he was at work. I tried a few other people on my street who i know are in during the day but no one has it.
Do you know where I stand on this? I have contacted all saints and DPD but waiting on response from both of them. Would the blame be with DOD and not allsaints. I never gave consent for them to leave me parcel anywhere else but my home. So angry with them!!!!
Cheers for any advice!

You are best dealing solely with the retailer. They have a contract with you to ensure that you receive your goods. It is up to them to deal with the courier.
It is possible that the person at No.20 did sign for your parcel and are denying it so that they can keep it themselves. But this is a lot rarer than you may imagine. The most likely scenario is that the parcel was delivered to the wrong street by mistake (most couriers have made this mistake at least once!) For what it is worth, judging by the lack of complaints about DPD on most consumer forums they seem to be pretty good so you may want to give them the benefit of the doubt.
I hope you here back from them soon. If not, keep calling the retailer - it's their problem.0 -
well, the guy at no20 i trust, he takes in parcels for me and i take in his. I know he was out at work aswell at his time and only he lives there. I think I will just keep hassling all saints to sort it out.

You contract is with the retailer - so only deal with them - you could ask them to show you the copy of the signature if they do not refund.

I had similar with Wickes. I got the emails with a timeslot for delivery, but although I was in, the driver never knocked on my door. No card was left informing me it had been taken elsewhere.
I checked online and it said it had been left with "authorised person" and no further details.
I called Wickes and they came back and said the driver couldn't remember where he had left it. They said to hang on while they investigated.
Then three days later, the lady from four doors down came round with the parcel and said jokingly "so do you want this or not?" It turns out it had been sitting on her kitchen bench for three days, and she thought I'd been carded but just couldn't be bothered to go round and get it from her.
If only he'd left a card, I'd have been able to get the parcel from her straight away without any of the hassle. Here I go again on my own....0 -
DPD are the worst I have experienced, and I have been doing shipping for 20 years or more. I chat to many of the regulars, and even have some of their phone numbers. The DPD courier came to my door and said he wanted my mobile phone to swap with what he had in an envelope, but he refused to let me open the envelope, and see what was inside, or to see the paperwork. His attitude was that if I did not know of a mobile phone swap, he would go, and the envelope would be returned unopened.
However someone had sent something to me, and eventually I got him to open the envelope, which he is not allowed to do, but he still would not let me look at the contents. By this time, I thought that it was probably a merchant terminal battery, which I was expecting the following week, but he would not let me see it, nor would he let me see the envelope nor accompanying delivery note, which would have said the sender's address.
Finally he walked away with my parcel, with me still remonstrating with him, that he had to return, that it was addressed to me. He refused, and had given me a card to call the depot and arrange another delivery - a premium 0844 number costing 10p per minute to queue on their busy switchboard. I managed to find another number through saynoto0870.com but waited for a a good 20 minutes without being put through.
So the second point is that Premium Numbers Should Be Banned - they should have to give alternatives! Why has this not been done? In this era of financial hardship, why are large companies allowed to persist in making people pay to use their customer relations departments?0 -
i get a lot of deliveries from DPD as 3 of my suppliers use them and the driver is always polite, i have always received my items within their given timeslot. infact now i usually give him a cuppa when he arrives0
