Hi posting on behalf of a family freind been told today he has got to leave hospital and move into a local carehome, in meeting with hospital staff and social services was told any savings above 23k he would need to use to pay his way. When he was asked how much he had he told them 50/60k is this normal practise and can he move /spend any saving ?
Or is it a case of honesty doesnt pay?

You seriously can't expect the state to pay for a care home when your friend has £50/60k in savings :eek:Hi posting on behalf of a family freind been told today he has got to leave hospital and move into a local carehome, in meeting with hospital staff and social services was told any savings above 23k he would need to use to pay his way.
