Working tax credits, lost my p60 help!

I was made redundant last year by my former employer, and only recently started work again in June. The only problem is I am applying for working tax credits yet cannnot find my p60 anywhere. I have tried my former employers who were less than helpfull and told me they will not do me a copy of my p60.
Is there anyway I can complete the working tax credits form without my p60?

you can provide estimated income details
  • Can you not contact the tax office for a figure? Or take it off your last payslip for that year.

last payslip for that tax year, should detail all income

but even just looking at bank statements for the last year, should show what your employer paid in, so just add it up

The figure they need for employment is gross, not net, so the above is wrong!!

if the OP is being advised to give an estimate, then your net income would be a good starting point, hence my suggestion to use bank statements. espec as with tax credits you have the £25k disregard, so underestimating by a few £k wont make that much difference to your claim this year. if you really want to give a more founded estimate, then just add 25% to your net income

He will still have to give figures exactly at some point. The way you worded was wrong. You said just add up what has gone into your bank, this would have been an underestimate quite majorly and he still needs to give exact figures.

The sooner the better with the disregard being slashed, I wouldn't want to give them the chance to overpay me.

figures for this year, dont have to be confirmed until next april - i would assume the job they started in June prob doesnt pay the same, so an estimate will suffice for opening the claim . once the claim is open, the OP can then confirm a change in circumstances, and give figures, based on their current income

the drop in disregard, also doesnt come in until next April, and will only apply to tax year 11/12, at which point they will have this tax years P60, and can confirm income

they will not be overpaid, as the claim will be based on their current situation. they just need a rough figure to get the claim set-up

If you don't have your actual P60 then your employer can give you a statement of earnings to replace it. While you wait for that enter your estimated income on the form but remember to tick the box on the next page confirming that you are only providing an estimate. That will give you more time to get the actual figure from the employer.
